The suspense action Hollywood flick “The Thomas Crown Affairâ€, which was released to movie houses in 1999 starring Pierce Brosnan, would never be effective if not for the wardrobe and costumes used. The work can be credited to well known fashion house Michael Kors. Tagged for its minimalist styles of designs, the fashion company worked its clothing within the styles of traditional sportswear. The basic Michael Kors clothes exude strong sexuality, accentuating and highlighting the tone of the gym-fit bodies.

Michael Kors, the designer behind the fashion house was originally a top designer for sportswear for women and was a sales assistant for Lothar's in New York from 1977 to 1978. In 1981, he made and launched his own women's sportswear label and in 1990 introduced his own budget priced menswear line.

As a fashion designer, Mr. Kors was once noted as saying that he intends to manifest his personality and designing expertise in the creation of fragrances. Thus, in 2000, when Michael Kors launched its first women's perfume through the Parfums Givenchy license, the company was very much in frenzy.

The debut of the fragrance was so strong and very much felt in the market that the company did not hesitate to take an expansion into men's perfumes, launched the following year (2001). The launch of the men's fragrances ushered in the re-introduction of the company's main clothing line for men following a long hiatus.

Parfums Givenchy by Michael Kors developed and launched three new fragrances collectively called Notes from Michael. The perfumes were distinct because each can be combined with any of the other two to produce a more distinct and stronger scent. Or, the wearer can opt to use each of the Notes from Michael fragrances alone.

With the launch of the Michael Kors fragrances also came the unveiling and launch of other Michael Kors expansion products like footwear, eyewear and handbags. The spring of 2001 was like a season storm as the company bombarded the market with numerous off-clothing products bearing the fabulous Michael Kors brand.

Experts say that the scents by Michael Kors perfumes are like its clothing lines, sensually minimalist in nature. Though many consumers would assert that the premium or high-end fragrances by this fashion house would directly compete and run in equal footing with today's most expensive fragrance brands.
